Blog Anniversary: 2021 Games in Review

In 2021 I played many titles that genuinely stole my heart, which made up for a lot of the bad that happened (like someone stealing parts of my car in the middle of the night just a few days before Christmas and the loss of a loved one).

Unfortunately, I played three otome games back-to-back that were not great. I couldn’t even finish the last two, and I’m debating whether I’m going to try again this year. The bright side is that I now have some amazing games like Cupid Parasite and Bustafellows to play instead.

Now let’s get into this year’s wrap-up!

Otome Game Review: Fxxx Me Royally!! Horny Magical Princess!

Intro: Princess Marie wants a husband from the parallel universe known as Earth. Things go wrong with her transportation spell and she crash lands on top of two ikemen. The good news is these two are prime candidates for a husband-to-be. The bad news is this was dreadfully boring and slogging through this was a struggle. If you enjoyed this title and don’t want to hear any criticisms about it, I’d recommend skipping this review because I didn’t like it.

Otome Game Review: Beastmaster & Prince

Intro: When Tiana trades her mother’s brooch to save a cage of wild animals at the market, she discovers they’re not really animals. They’re actually the princes of Fasan who went missing when their ship caught on fire! Cursed into bestial forms and not knowing who tried to assassinate them, they turn to Tiana for help. There’s just a few small problems: war is about to engulf her homeland once more, and now she’s in grave danger.

Angelique Luminarise: Sample

I’ve decided to provide overviews of any Japanese language otome games I purchase to help you determine how difficult the language may be. As such, I’ll be translating a portion of the beginning of the game and providing screenshots so you may see how the Japanese text reads. Hopefully this helps you decide if the game is right for you. As always, if you spot any mistakes please let me know down below in the comments. Thank you!
