Game Review: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

Intro: 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim follows thirteen characters trying to unravel the truth behind a kaiju apocalypse bearing down upon their world. If you’re interested in playing Sentinels, I’d recommend either skipping straight to my spoiler-free final thoughts down below or coming back to this after you’ve played it. Sentinels is best enjoyed without knowing too much.

Blog Anniversary: 2020 Games in Review

With the pandemic going on and my rocky financial situation, I cancelled all but two orders this year: Animal Crossing New Leaf and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. I mainly played titles from my backlog and the birthday gifts I received from my brother (thank you very much!). Luckily I have plenty of otome games to get through next year from said backlog. I also tried my hand at translating one when I had time to do so, which I’ll talk about below in addition to the most recent controversy surrounding Aksys’ localized otome games.

Oh no. It’s My 5 Year Blogging Anniversary…

Wow, I didn’t miss the notification this time! I’ve been blogging about 2D bishounen and Final Fantasy games, and I’ve even started translating otome games. I don’t know how I managed to stick with this for so long but here we are! Here’s some sassy Lucia for you:

Lucia

A huge thank you to every single person who’s ever visited my blog, made a comment, liked something I wrote or even used an affiliate link of mine. I truly appreciate it. You have no idea how helpful that is. I’ve also met so many wonderful people and friends thanks to wordpress and twitter and it continues blows my mind that people read my posts.

I hope I can continue to give back to you with my translations and reviews ❤ Feel free to recommend otome games or novels you’d like me to translate. If the material isn’t too advanced for me I’ll absolutely consider it! No promises, though. I won’t be charging anyone for these since I really need to just practice. Later down the road I’ll be charging for translations so I’d suggest recommending something while you can.

Tentative Otome Translation Project Schedule So Far:

  • Beastmaster and Prince (I’ve translated 3 routes and am currently on Alfred’s)
  • Beastmaster and Prince Fandisc
  • Dance With Devils

I love you all. Take care and stay safe out there! (´▽`ʃƪ)♡

Update

Ever since I started thinking about translating Beastmaster and Prince, I was aware of an upcoming dilemma: How do I go about posting individual routes?

Matheus, Erik, Lucia and Alfred each have 5 chapters, while Klaus and Sylvio each have 4. It takes me around a week to get a chapter out. My process is time consuming and admittedly cumbersome, but it works for me and this is all for practice. The goal is to compile every chapter in a route together into one post. I think I found a way to do so. We’ll see if it works, fingers crossed!

I’m not making any promises on a release schedule. Burn-out is a big concern of mine, especially when I have other things I’m working on and other obligations. I also want to play other games so I’m taking all of this at my own pace.

I’m currently working on chapter 5, which is the start of Matheus’ route. Once all of his chapters are done, I’ll upload them all together in a single post. If any changes to this plan occur, I’ll make sure to let you guys know. Thank you for your patience and I hope you’re all staying safe out there!!

Blog Anniversary: 2019 Games in Review

2019 was a good year for games, although I have yet to play the majority of them. Especially regarding otoge. The good news is that I have a ton of titles to play this year though! My biggest hurdle was the costs of studying abroad I had to scrounge together for 2020. It was a close call. My health deteriorated so badly my doctor told me to stop working because it would cause another flare up. After getting my next paycheck, I had to explain the situation to my boss. She was so incredibly understanding but I nearly broke down and cried in front of her. That job was all I had. So I sold most of my possessions, applied to every scholarship available and started doing freelance work. And I made it. If I clear the next application process, I’ll be on my way to studying abroad! That’s not to say I didn’t buy anything because I most definitely did. I had to be selective though. My family was also unbelievably sweet, getting me a copy of Death Stranding and my brother even got me Pokemon Sword for Christmas. In the process of culling what I had, I focused on my backlog. Most of what I played were games I received as gifts or were from said backlog. The rest were purchases made while I was working and didn’t have to worry about my finances until this crap happened.

Updates, Life-Changing Concerns, Translations, Gaming and More

That’s right, I’m back after another long hiatus!! Adhering to a schedule stresses me out so that’s why I sometimes just disappear. If you find a cure for internet introvert syndrome please send help.

A lot of things have happened that really took their toll on me. I’d rather not divulge what those things were but I hope you can understand that I needed a break or I would’ve gone crazy.
